System Integration Engineer

Job Description:
Provides Overall Integration for Telemetry and Avionics System Integration Lab (ASIL) Development/Operations for the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS) Program as part of the NASA Space Client System (SLS) Program. Role will support all contracted ICPS missions.

Responsible for:
- ICPS Telemetry Integration
Synchronizes across all Client Technologies to coordinate Telemetry Definition Products/Data for the NASA Customer’s Use to build Telemetry Decommutation Architecture
Leads integration / problem resolution of the ICPS Telemetry Interface Items (Bandwidth requirements, etc.)
Coordinates Telemetry recordings for multiple client (internal) and external customer usage (Orion (Spacecraft) Program, Orion Flight Operations, Kennedy Space Center Ground/Client Operations, Space Client System (SLS), 45th Space Wing Range, etc.)
Oversees any Telemetry / data routing and associated projects
- ICPS Avionics System Integration Lab Integration
Oversees the initial non-recurring effort to stand-up and integrate new capabilities into the existing Client Avionics Lab
Integrates across Client Technologies (Flight Software, Avionics/Electrical, EGSE, Ground Software)
Provides program coordination for recurring ASIL scheduling, tests, etc.
Directs test planning and test execution (as required) to support ICPS Program Objectives

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Applied Math, Physics, or other Technical Degree
- Strong Project Management Experience
- Knowledge of Client Vehicle Telemetry Systems
- Experience operating / developing Avionics System Integration Labs
- Applicable and relatable experience (years exp)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint to include the integration of charts for presentations
- Ability to quickly build and maintain rapport with teammates and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Organization skills necessary to maintain focus and achieve consensus within the diverse multi-disciplined teams
- Software Development experience; AGILE and SAFe SW experience
- Previous internship/work experience in an Aerospace company
- Advanced understanding of systems engineering principles and project management
- Advanced understanding of Client Vehicle Telemetry and Avionics Systems
- Experience with NASA programs and customer interfaces
- Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, teamwork and leadership skills on previous technical projects
- Ability to operate independently and work as part of a team

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 9-15 years of experience (for external candidates only). Advanced degrees are typically preferred at this level.
